Dear Parents,
It was a short week but one filled with activity. Thank you for all you did to make this funrun a success for our school! The children had fun participating in the run and were proud of their achievement! I hope you also enjoyed our virtual Open House and seeing all the projects we’ve been working on this year!
In math we worked all week on representing and solving word problems. Now that we are experts at three digit addition and subtraction with and without regrouping, this reinforced the problem solving we’ve been doing all year! In writing and reading we’ve been learning how to plan research by asking questions, finding multiple sources and taking notes. Soon we will partner up to research more independently. In social studies we have continued working on map skills and reading a map key. We also reinforced our cardinal directions. In science we are watching our weather, graphing it, recording it on a chart and becoming weather men and women as we report the weather.
Upon our return from spring break, each Monday we will encourage students to wear their Kindness T-shirts, or BLUE/TEAL/AQUA shirts and we will continue promoting Kindness on campus!
Here are a few ways we will be promoting Kindness:
- Staff will wear Kindness shirts on Mondays
- Promoting additional kindness challenges for the week
- Providing photo opportunities when identifying a student “choosing to be kind” & promote social media.
Challenges will be promoted via announcements on Mondays and I will share with you the info to include in your parent newsletter.
