Welcome to my blog! My name is Beth Carpenter! I am a 2nd grade teacher at Coyote Ridge Elementary. I majored in Early Childhood Education and have taught for 22 years. I have taught grades K- 3 which gives me a unique ability to know where my second graders fit within those grades. Teaching is more than a profession to me, it is a calling. I love to help light the fire of curiosity to help all my students become lifelong learners!

Week 22

Dear Parents,
We had another wonderful week of learning in second grade. We started division in math! We finished writing our 100 year old me stories and our verb poems. We learned helping verbs and verb tenses this week and will next learn about linking verbs. We read an interesting informational text about jellyfish and learned the difference between facts and opinions! We are continuing to finish up landforms and our photo stories in the computer lab. We are learning about natural and manmade resources all around us!

Thank you to all the parents who made our Valentines Party a success; from sending in party items, coming to enjoy the festivities, and help in planning the afternoon. A special thank you to Cate Crane for pulling it all together!Look for pictures of the party on our blog on Sunday! There was lots of fun going on. I heard one child say, “ This is the best party I’ve ever had!” Everything you do to help partner with us at CRE creates a happy learning environment where children thrive!
