Welcome to my blog! My name is Beth Carpenter! I am a 2nd grade teacher at Coyote Ridge Elementary. I majored in Early Childhood Education and have taught for 22 years. I have taught grades K- 3 which gives me a unique ability to know where my second graders fit within those grades. Teaching is more than a profession to me, it is a calling. I love to help light the fire of curiosity to help all my students become lifelong learners!

Week 26

Dear Parents,
It was so good to see the shining faces in my class after Spring Break. The children were glad to get back to work! We had many interesting experiments in science. We are still watching a few of them to see if our predictions come true! These experiments were about evaporation, condensation, and we even made it rain in our classroom!
We are reviewing some skills in math learned earlier in the year like odd/even numbers and looking for patterns in numbers. We also graphed the marshmallows in Lucky Charms on Thursday March 17th!
We are continuing our study of adjectives by learning the articles, a, an, as well as the, then used them in our writing. In reading we learned to think about what we already knew, ask questions, and look for the answers.
In social studies we have begun to learn about landforms!

I would like to welcome our new student, Kendly Barton. She has come into our classroom ready to learn and already has many new friends!
